She hasn't missed a cut in more than 12 months and now Robyn Choi can all but secure a LPGA Tour card by extending that streak by one more week.
The Gold Coaster enters the season-ending Epson Tour Championship 11th in the Race For The Card standings, just $200 from one of the 10 cards on offer for LPGA promotion.
As fellow Australian Gabi Ruffels waits to be crowned the Order of Merit winner for 2023, Choi needs to extend her cut-streak of 26 straight events to play her way onto the LPGA Tour in 2024.
“Out here, every single dollar is very important, so I am just trying to make the cut every week,” Choi told Epson Tour Content Producer, Luke Otto, Choi's LPGA Tour card reliant on a solo 60th-place finish or better.
“To get into the top 10, you need to try and get every dollar you can. If I had a bad round, I had to remind myself it wasn’t over and I can still make my way up the leaderboard.
“Obviously, I don’t have a win this year, but I have given myself a few good chances.
“The goal was to have a win this year, but at the end of the day, the top 10 is my ultimate goal, and I am really close to that.”
The 25-year-old joined the Epson Tour in 2019 and has been knocking on the door of the top 10 several times since 2019, finishing No.13 in 2020, No.25 in 2021, and No.17 in 2022.
Choi has been in this situation before but is now focused on her game and what she can control.
“It is definitely a grind,” said Choi. “A lot of the season, you are just grinding it out there, trying to put together a good score.
“If I just have one more good week like I did in Arkansas, I can really jump up the standings. I am just focused on playing more good golf and seeing what I can do at the Tour Championship.”
Currently at Iowa State University, Sydney amateur June Song has accepted an invite to make her LPGA Tour debut at The Ascendant this week, taking the Australian representation to six.
Two-time Ladies European Tour winner Stephanie Kyriacou has joined West Australian Kirsten Rudgeley at the Aramco Team Series in Hong Kong while Kelsey Bennett, Amy Walsh and Victoria Fricot will tee it up at the Lombardia Ladies Open LETAS on the LET Access Series.
