American Cheyenne Woods took some time out after her second round of the Volvik RACV Ladies Masters to meet Australia’s native wildlife at Currumbin Sanctuary just south of Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast.

Woods had a fantastic time, “The Wildlife Park was so much fun!”

“I couldn`t believe how big it was and we were able to get up close and personal with the animals.”

“My favourite was definitely the kangaroos. It was my first time ever seeing one in person and I was surprised at how gentle and friendly they all were! We had the chance to see a few joeys in the pouches and take a lot of pictures to send back to the States.”

“The Koala was so adorable! It was almost like holding a baby, he was so small and calm.”

“Currumbin was such a great experience. It was truly once a once in a lifetime trip for me. I never would have imagined myself being able to hold koalas and feed kangaroos. The staff were so helpful in teaching us about each animal and leading us around the park. I would definitely recommend a visit to Currumbin, it`s the perfect place to learn about and enjoy the wildlife of Australia at the same time.”

After this week, the talented player heads to New Zealand for the ISPS Handa New Zealand Women’s Open and then returns to Australia for the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open at Royal Canberra Golf Club from 14 to 17 February.
