AGIC commissions a national study of Australia’s golfing tourists
The Australian Golf Industry Council has commissioned a nation-wide study of Australia’s golfing tourists.

In launching the study Golf Australia CEO and Chairman of the AGIC Stephen Pitt, said “golf tourism is a key part of the Australian golf industry with its impact relevant to all industry stakeholders. This survey that we are undertaking will establish the current trends in golf tourism in Australia and the travel patterns of the Australian golfer and will be a key document as we seek further industry support from the state and federal governments.”

A national report will be prepared and on completion will be made available to all interested parties at no cost.

“Research projects that benefit the whole industry are projects that the AGIC is well positioned to deliver and this one along with the health industry are two of our current key focuses,” Pitt added.

As an added incentive to complete the survey, a respondent will be selected at random to receive a place for them and a friend into the Pro-Am at this year`s Emirates Australian Open, to be held at the Australian Golf Club in Sydney.

““We are sure this will give everyone an added reason to share their golf travel habits. We welcome the industry’s assistance in ensuring this survey has as wide a reach as possible and thank everyone in advance for participating in such a vital study,” Pitt said.
