• WPGA Tour bolstered by Wagga Wagga Country Club & Moss Vale Golf Club Pro-ams

The WPGA Tour of Australasia has announced that its 2023 WPGA Tour has been bolstered by two new events in early 2023, the Navigate Advisors Wagga Wagga Country Club Pro-am (WWCC) and the Moss Vale WPGA Tour Pro-am, both to be played in March.

Wagga Wagga Country Club will be playing host to an exciting new event on the WPGA Tour of Australasia schedule in 2023, which will be played over 36 holes on the 9th and 10th of March, and will boast a record-equaling prizemoney purse of $50,000 up for grabs for the women professionals.

WPGA Tour of Australasia CEO Karen Lunn said that WWGC’s push for equality was to be celebrated.

“The WPGA Tour is delighted to announce this exciting new event at Wagga Wagga Country Club. It is fantastic that the club understands the significance of hosting a WPGA Tour pro-am in addition to their very successful PGA of Australia pro-am.
The fact that both events have equal levels of prizemoney is a testament to WWGC’s commitment to equality and equity for women.
We really appreciate the opportunity to bring women's professional golf to regional centres such as Wagga Wagga, and it is important for us to use this opportunity to showcase progressive clubs such as WWCC which are all about promoting inclusivity and diversity.

I am certain that the women professionals competing will have a wonderful experience at the event, particularly given WWCC has a proven track record of hosting quality golf tournaments having been awarded the accolade as the best Pro Am on the adidas PGA Pro-am series for 4 consecutive years.”

Wagga Wagga Country Club Secretary Manager John Turner said
“We are excited to be hosting a WPGA Pro-Am in addition to our already successful PGA Pro-Am. We are committed to increasing women's participation in golf and providing a welcoming environment here at the Club. We look forward to hosting some of the best women golfers from the WPGA Tour.”

The Moss Vale Golf Club’s WPGA Tour Pro-am will return to the Tour schedule in 2023 after a 3-year absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Moss Vale WPGA Tour pro-am will be played over 18 holes on Tuesday 7th March, with prizemoney of $20,000.

WPGA Tour CEO Karen Lunn expressed her delight at seeing a premier women’s golf event return to Moss Vale Golf Club, particularly as the tour and Moss Vale Golf Club have such a long history of working together.

“We are so happy to be returning to Moss Vale in March for the Women's Pro-am this year. The inaugural women's pro-am at Moss Vale Golf Club was held back in 1973 and was a part of the very first season of what was then the LPGA of Australia, so to be coming back here 50 years later really marks a very special occasion.

Our Players always enjoy experiencing the Southern Highlands hospitality and playing the course at Moss Vale Golf Club which is regarded as one of the most scenic and challenging courses in regional NSW. We look forward to adding another name to the impressive list of former winners of the event which include Dame Laura Davies and Katherine Kirk.”
