World Golf Hall of Famer Karrie Webb fired a second round of five-under-par 68 to move into the top 10 at the Reignwood LPGA Classic being played on the Nicklaus course at Pine Valley Golf Club in Beijing.

Webb posted six birdies and one bogey in her second round to be at seven-under-par total for the US$1.8 million event. The Queenslander, along with the rest of the field is chasing young American Jessica Korda.

The former ISPS Hands Women’s Australian Open champion followed up her opening round of nine-under-par 64 with a five-under, 68 to be at 14-under-par at the halfway mark.

Korda started the day one-over through the first five holes but got things going midway through her round. Three consecutive birdies before she made the turn kick-started a bogey-free back nine that included three more birdies.

“I started a little slow today, but all in all I think it was a great day.” said Korda. “I putted really well, just kind of did the same things I was doing the first day. A little different score, but I’m not really disappointed with that.”

Korda holds a two-shot lead over local favourite Shanshan Feng (64) and American Stacy Lewis (66). Outright fourth at 11-under-par is first round co-leader with Korda, South Korean Na Yeon Choi. Fellow compatriot and Rolex World No. 1 Inbee Park is a further two shots back at 9-under-par.

Webb is the leading Australian in a tie for eighth with Swede Caroline Headwall.

Katherine Hull-Kirk (70) is tied for 23rd place at four-under-par, while Sarah Jane Smith (69) and tied for 34th position. The final Australian in the limited field event is Victorian Lindsey Wright. Wright is at one-over-par after a one-under-par 72 and shares 54th position.
